Julia:

It's important to me that we kept the safe space policy that Rad Magpie employs as a whole and reiterated it in our team values. I've been in several game development groups previously and I want to do my best to make sure this summer is a great experience and that our game is actually fun! Something that's crucial in our game values is the marriage between gameplay and story, making a fun game that's actually fun for everyone to develop will shine through, as opposed to making game dev feel like a chore.

The game values reflect our collective decision-making regarding the content and reception of our game, though I find pride in the eleventh value- not depicting homophobia/racism/transphobia/misogyny. While we plan to make a horror game, we as members of these various groups feel that it is self-sabotaging to include them in the narrative, even in a villain. There are ways to make a villain evil without adding hate towards any group that is undeserving, and it feels almost out of place among a dev team like this.

Kathy: I think it's really awesome that we can make a game that reflects so many values that are important to every member of the team. I fully believe that, with this unique team with a huge range of skill sets, we could make a wonderful game that encompasses all of these game values.

Katie:

I think our game and team values are extremely important when it comes to working together as a team. Being able to respect everyone's ideal game ideas is extremely difficult to try and make it work. My hopes is that his game will be visually interesting with our unique mix of arts.

Tilon:

The team values are important for how we approach our team interactions. We want our team dynamics to stay healthy and helpful to one another. Our game values show our personalities and how they fit together to make a game that we all want.

Katherine:

We managed to get a concept together and that's enough for me for the week, phew.
